The phase of processing the data started as soon as the census data collection was completed and the questionnaires arrived from the offices in the field at the Department of Population at the Ministry of Immigration and Population in Naypyidaw.
The data collected from the questionnaires were then processed and organized in an easy-to-understand format in order to make it available to the public for research, planning, evaluation or policy-making purposes.
Once the questionnaires arrived in Naypyidaw the process of capturing, checking, editing, coding and tabulating the data began. A team of around 100 staff worked in this phase of the census. Once the data was validated, it was analysed and tabulated, using scanners, computers and skilled personnel. The results of the census were then disseminated in three phases: preliminary results in July 2014, main results in March 2015, and analytical reports starting in November 2015. The results were released to the Government, civil society organizations, development partners, other stakeholders and the public.
