The training was conducted in Summit Park View Hotel on 15 June 2013. 16 UNFPA country office staff attended the training and facilitators are UN Cares trainers from UNFPA who received training of trainers in 2009, UN dispensary doctor and Myanmar Positive Group members. Power point presentations as well as VIPP cards and flip charts were used as training aids. Group work was also conducted to get better understanding on the topics discussed.

Opening speech was given by Janet E. Jackson UNFPA representative for Myanmar and Assistant representative Dr. Hla Hla Aye one of the participants fully supported though out the training. The topics covered were according to the training programme and two way communications with ice breaking sessions were conducted to obtain the basic knowledge about HIV and AIDS. Both male and female condom demonstration was conducted. There was stigma campaign video which was also eye catching for all. Video clip on SG’s speech was also viewed to understand the importance of UN Cares. Explanation on UN Cares policy, minimum standards and insurance system in UN workplace are important topics covered in the training session. Questions and answers sessions were conducted during the training session.

It was discovered that the topics on PEP need more explanation because most of the terms are medical terminologies where non medicals were familiar the terminologies.

Overall evaluation was done after the training and actions taken are to follow up on the effectiveness of the training and sharing through UNFPA facebook and UNFPA Myanmar website. The cost of this training was provided by UNFPA core fund.
