Census funding

The total cost of the 2014 Myanmar Population and Housing Census is US$ 58.5 million. The Government contribution of US$ 15 million includes the provision of staff at central, state/region and township level, equipment, facilities, and services. UNFPA’s contribution from core resources is US$ 5 million. UNFPA’s contribution also includes in kind technical and programmatic support from the country office, regional office and headquarters. Donor contributions come from from AusAID, DFID, Switzerland, Norway, Finland, Germany, Italy, and Sweden. The United States has provided technical assistance.

UNFPA has set up a multi-donor pooled funding modality to streamline the management, reporting and use of all contributions to the census.
