This memorable booklet is the printed version of the lived experience of the World Humanitarian Day Exhibition and Talk Show, which took place at the historic and symbolic U-Thant House, in Yangon on 22 August 2025, gathering donor embassies, Heads of UN agencies in Myanmar, Representatives from humanitarian international non-profit organizations, civil society organizations, and storytellers who joined the event.
“Stories in Action: A Call for Humanity and Hope” is a curated collection of 30 photos, each one accompanied by a compelling human-interest story, covering emergency maternal health, gender-based violence prevention and protection, mental health and psychosocial support, sexual and reproductive health and rights for all vulnerable women and girls in Myanmar, caught up in displacement, conflict and natural disasters, including the recent devastating 7.7 earthquake that hit Myanmar on 28th March 2025.
Each photo has been captured by UNFPA-trained storytellers and frontline partners on the ground, and it is a proof of courage, of strength, determination and a possible vision of the future, where people live in dignity and are resilient to stand up and rise.
Each photo is a Voice, and every Voice demands Action. UNFPA Myanmar continues to be committed to serving and assisting the women and girls in Myanmar.
