UNFPA marks the 2017 International Women’s Day with a celebration of the Women and Girls First initiative. Women and Girls First captures the spirit of #BeBoldForChange by protecting the rights of the most vulnerable women and girls in Myanmar. The programme covers remote and conflict-affected areas in Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine and Northern Shan.

Women and Girls First is a 3-year US$14.5 million joint initiative between UNFPA, Australia, Canada, Finland, Italy, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
