Mr. Hyungseog Kim
Director of Population Census Division, Statistics Korea, Republic of Korea
Mr. Kim is a demographer specialized in population censuses, population projections, household projections, and population dynamic models. He has rich experience in census-taking in South Korea. He has conducted four times of Korea’s quinquennial population and housing censuses in 2000-2015. He developed the first official household projections of South Korea in 2002 and made the 1998-2055 Population Projections for North Korea in 2010. He was a member of the UN Expert Group Meeting on the 3rdRevision of the Principles and Recommendations for the Population and Housing Censuses.
He holds a Diploma in Population Studies (DPS) from the International Institute for Population Science (IIPS), India, an M.A. in Demography from University of the Philippines, Philippines, and a PhD in Statistics from Chungnam National University, Korea.
