Dr. Eng Chuan Koh
Deputy Chief Statistician, Singapore Department of Statistics
Dr. Koh is currently the Deputy Chief Statistician at the Singapore Department of Statistics. In his position, he oversees the Prices Division, Strategic Resource and Population Division, and Income and Expenditure Division.
Dr. Koh has extensive experience with surveys, having been involved in the Department of Statistics’ business surveys, price surveys, household expenditure survey, and the Census. On the Census, he was a Senior Assistant Superintendent in charge of fieldwork operations in Singapore’s 2000 Census of Population. In 2010, he was the Census Director managing Singapore’s Census of Population 2010.
Dr. Koh has published several papers on Singapore’s marriage and fertility trends and demographic development, making use of Singapore’s Census data among other marriage and birth registration data.
Dr. Koh holds a PhD in Demography from the Australian National University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Econometrics from the London School of Economics.
