Under the PBF’s project “Empowering young women and men as agents in peace building”, these young peacebuilders will be active at the sub-national and national level, supporting peace process actors to stay in touch with developments, perceptions and issues at the grassroots, while achieving greater transparency in particular with a view to Myanmar’s youth.

UNFPA wishes to enlist the services these youth peace consultants to be hosted by peace process actor offices across Myanmar. A declared aim of this initiative is to promote positive inter-ethnic cooperation and collaboration among the diversity of identity groups within Myanmar. Accordingly, the consultants in this project will be recruited with a view to their potential for engaging actors from various ethnic backgrounds, thus bridging barriers and obstacles that prevent an inclusive peace process, and promoting the views and voices of young people in peace dialogues in support of UNSCR resolution 2250.
